My art final for freshman yearr. I'm pretty proud of it and I'm sure I got an A. Everyone liked it a lot, haha.
I've never drawn on a paper this size. Eighteen by twenty inches (a requirement). However, the size made it possible to become way more detailed, which I enjoyed. The paper also had a terrible texture on it that made shading extremely difficult. That's why some parts look lizard-ish. I'm not happy with the hair because I had absolutely no idea how to do it, but I only had two days left to finish. Some proportions are off but that's okay.
I'm going to enter this into the Iowa State Fair art show this summer along with Shattered.
Took a few weeks in class. 4H, HB, 8B. Used this as my reference. Thank you. :hug:

Edit: Yes, I got an A. :D

The lizard look is fine, some people have leathery skin, this guy looks like he'd been out in the elements for years, and you've captured that. He looks homeless.

An A, for sure. The hair looks fine, with lttle patches, just like in the photo.

Thank you. I didn't like that the paper made his skin look leathery but at least it looks intentional, haha.

That's such a fantastic piece! The shading and lighting is perfect, and the work on the wrinkles is remarkable! Also so eyebrows looks so realistic :D The only thing, if you allow me, is the hand, looks a bit unnatural cause it seems bigger..dunnot if it was like that on the reference pic :)

But such a great work on it! Congrats!
